When Intercraft opened its factory in Taylor, they had to hire over 100 people from Georgetown because they couldn’t find enough qualified employees from this town. The Intercraft company manufactured picture frames. From this I can deduce that Taylor has a dismal work pool.
Samsung produces computer chips. This work is of a much higher order than picture frames.
Even if Samsung can find 100 qualified employees from Taylor and surrounding towns, they will still need another 1,500 workers from somewhere else. This means that 1,500 families will move to Taylor and overnight the population of Taylor will increase by 6,000 residents. The impact will be significant on all businesses in this town.
There will be that many more people buying groceries, clothing, gasoline and there will more children attending all our schools, more people visiting our hospitals, dental offices and other medical facilities. Traffic will increase and rental properties will be needed and all this in a short period of time as Samsung will go into production near the end of 2024.
There will be people coming here from all over the world including South Korea, since that’s where Samsung originated, and the town of Manor will also have all these experiences since Tesla will build a mega factory there. Taylor and Manor
