If you see smoke from homes through Friday, it might not be a fire.
Taylor city staff are conducting smoke testing through May 6, in areas throughout town to help locate breaks and defects in the wastewater system. During testing, nontoxic white smoke will exit through vent pipes on roofs of homes and through sewer line breaks.
Smoke should not enter a resident’s home unless there is defective plumbing or drain traps are dry. If smoke does enter a resident’s home, contact the Taylor Public Works Department at 512- 365-1422.
