A bike ride is one way Taylor residents can tell the city how to improve its development.
Taylor’s municipal government, in partnership with Simplecity Design, have provided avenues this week for the community to provide input on Taylor’s development code. The Plan Taylor Bike Tour will be Saturday, May 7.
City staff say that Taylor’s development patterns aren’t being represented with the current rules on the books. Events like the bike tour are meant to showcase how new development differs from historic areas of Taylor and how development codes will shape Taylor’s future.
Prior to Blackland Prairie Day festivities, the Plan Taylor Bike Tour will start in front of the library. Residents are invited to come along with their families to tour Taylor’s built environments in some of the city’s renowned neighborhoods.
Attendees should come with their bikes to the library at 8 a.m. before the bike ride, which begins 15 minutes afterward. The tour concludes and heads to the festival at 9:30 a.m.
