Heritage Square Farmers Market

Granger Farmers Market

Fresh fruits, vegetables, jelly, canned and baked goods, eggs, artisan crafts and more will be at the Granger Main Street Farmers Market on the first and third Saturdays from April through October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of W. Davilla and Walton streets in Granger.

Third Thursday

Every third Thursday of each month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open past 5 until 8 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to shop locally and become familiar with the shops in the downtown area.

COVID-19 & Flu Vaccines

The Williamson County and Cities Health District will have a walk-in clinic for COVID-19 and flu vaccinations every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Taylor building is located at 115 W. 6th St., one block from Main Street north of downtown Taylor. Tax Assistance

The Taylor Public Library, 801 Vance St., is hosting two tax assistance programs free of charge.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) will be on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. VITA takes walk-ins only. No reservations required.

AARP Tax Assistance will be available Wednesdays noon to 4 p.m., but online reservations are required for this service.

Bingo

Wednesday, May 4 — United Seniors will sponsor Bingo at the Tripp Center, 1517 Mills St. in Taylor. Guests are asked to bring one new item worth $1.

Granger Lakefest

May 5-7 — The 43rd Annual Granger Lakefest & Homecoming is this week, which is highlighted all three days with a carnival starting at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Thursday will be Cinco de Mayo Night with live music, dancing contests, food vendors and more beginning at 6:45 p.m., followed by more fun on Friday night with live music starting at 7 p.m. Then, Saturday festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with a parade and continue into the afternoon with more music, food, vendors and more.

Blackland Prairie Days

Saturday, May 7 — The festival returns after a two-year hiatus and will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street intersecting with Second Street in downtown Taylor. Live music, food, vendors and more will be on hand as attendees can also visit adjacent businesses.

Election Day

Saturday, May 7 — The general election will have polling locations at Taylor City Hall, 400 Porter St., and in Thrall, Hutto and Granger from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, visit https://www.wilco.org/Departments/Elections.

Seniors meeting & games

Tuesday, May 4 — United Seniors will have a meeting at 9:30 a.m., at the Tripp Center, 1517 Mills St. in Taylor. Later, there will be a game day at 2-4 p.m. at the same location.
