QUACK TRACK QUALIFIES

The Ducks and Lady Ducks track and field teams continued their push to the state meet this past Thursday, April 21 at the District 19-20 4A area championships. A total of 15 Taylor athletes will advance to the regional round Friday and Saturday, April 29-30.

The Ducks and Lady Ducks track and field teams continued their push to the state meet this past Thursday, April 21 at the District 19-20 4A area championships.

A total of 15 Taylor athletes will advance to the regional round Friday and Saturday, April 29-30.

Ahjalei Davis was the first to advance to the area round after she placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 101’ 8” to advance to the regional round.

Emma Whitsel finished first in the 100-meter hurdles and broke the school record once again, running a 15.26 to advance to regionals.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Destiny Lewis, Whitsel, Zakaya Frederick and Tyronzia Lewis finished third with a time of 1:49.0 to advance to the regional round.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Destiny Lewis, Frederick, Whitsel and Tyronzia Lewis finished fourth with a time of 51.07 to advance to the regional round.

The Lady Ducks finished seventh overall as a team at the area meet.

Jarvis Anderson finished first in the triple jump with a 47’10 to advance to the regional meet.

Ashton Vega finished fourth in the long jump with a 20’1 to advance to regionals.

The 4x200 Relay team of TuTu Fisher, Marcus Jackson, Vega and Brandon Alderete advanced to Regionals, finishing third at the area meet.

Christian Rohlack advanced to Regionals in the 400- and 800-meter, finishing third in the 400 and second in the 800 meters.

The 4x400 team of Brennan Zupfer, Alderete, Rohlack and Anderson finished second and will advance to Regionals.

Anderson, Rhett Richardson and Kemarius Miller will advance to Regionals on the 110 and 300 hurdles. Anderson placed first, Richardson third and Miller fourth in the 110. Anderson was first in the 300 meter with Miller taking third and Richardson fourth.

As a team, the Taylor boys finished runner-up at the Area Meet at Lake Belton with 100 points.
