Albert G. Arzola, 72, of Taylor, went to be with his Heavenly Father Thursday, April 21, 2022. He was born to Alberto Arzola, Sr. and Pilar Gonzales of Elgin.

He married his love, Mary (Magaña) Arzola. They were married for 50 years and had five children, making their life in Taylor.

Although he lived in Taylor most of his life, Albert grew up in Elgin and always claimed to be an Elgin Wildcat.

Albert worked hard all his life to take care of his family, working for Williamson County Pct. 4 for 30 years.

Albert was a proud Marine and served in the Vietnam war, receiving several medals including one for marksmanship.

He loved to fish and hunt and ride around with his dog, Radar. In his later years, you could find him on his land, feeding his cows and horse named Blue, enjoying the solitude and peacefulness of country life.

He was a very kind, genuine and simple man who loved his country and his family.

Albert didn’t say much, but when he did it was always a funny story or witty comeback. He spread joy in his 72 years on Earth and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ricardo (Lalo) Arzola; a grandchild, Freddy Garcia; and a child, Peggy Arzola.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Albert (Nicole), Shane and Tino; a daughter, Kimberly (Beto) Garcia; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Raul (Eileen) Arzola and Henry Arzola; two sisters, Stella (Dab) Gomez and Lily (Salazar), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Taylor.

Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Taylor.
