Heritage Square Farmers Market

The Farmers Market is typically every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Heritage Square, 400 N. Main St. in Taylor. For updates, visit https://www.facebook.com/heritagesquarefarmersmarket.

Third Thursday

Every third Thursday of each month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open past 5 until 8 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to shop locally and become familiar with the shops in the downtown area.

COVID-19 & Flu Vaccines

The Williamson County and Cities Health District will have a walk-in clinic for COVID-19 and flu vaccinations every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Taylor building is located at 115 W. 6th St., one block from Main Street north of downtown Taylor. Tax Assistance

The Taylor Public Library, 801 Vance St., is hosting two tax assistance programs free of charge.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) will be on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. VITA takes walk-ins only. No reservations required.

AARP Tax Assistance will be available Wednesdays noon to 4 p.m., but online reservations are required for this service.

Egg hunt

Saturday, April 16 — The city will host an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. at Heritage Square, 400 N. Main St. in Taylor. There will be thre areas for age groups of baby-3, 4-6 and 7-9. The Easter Bunny will be around to meet the children and for photo opportunities.

7 Sayings of Christ

Saturday, April 16 — In this event separate from the previous listing, churches of Taylor and the surround area will host the 7 Last Sayings of Christ from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fannie Robinson Park’s pavilion, 206 S. Dolan St. in Taylor. People are encouraged to bring their own seating. An egg hunt and refreshments will be provided.

Easter Fest

Sunday, April 17 — The 1st Annual Southside Easter Extravaganza will be at 2 p.m. at Fannie Robinson Park, 260 S. Dolan St. in Taylor. Food and drinks will be provided.

Luminaries on the Square

Friday, April 22 — Join people for an evening of honoring all cancer survivors and their caregivers, as well as remembering those who lost the fight. The event will be at Heritage Square from 6 to 9 p.m. All donations go to the American Cancer Society.

Plant swap

Saturday, April 23 — The Friends of the Taylor Public Library will host a plant swap at the library, 801 Vance St. in Taylor. People can bring plants at 10 a.m., and swapping will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free, and all children will get a free plant. There will be master gardeners throughout the day, along with informal gardening advice circles.

Pond management

Tuesday, April 26 — From 9 a.m. to noon, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office is presenting a program to help with your ponds. Guest speaker Brittany Chesser, aquatic vegetation program specialist with Texas A&M, will address topics and demonstrate an on-site analysis of pond water.

Lunch is included. Two continuing education units are offered. The cost is $25 and you can register at williamson.agrilife.org. The event will be at the Lake Hutto Park Pavilion, 805 Estate Drive. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and waterproof footwear.

5K, 10K, more

April 30-May 1 — The Hippo Stampede will be a virtual race with proceeds benefitting Hutto community scholarships. To register, visit bit.ly/hippostampede22. For more information, including how to be a sponsor, email [email protected]
