The Ducks came out strong against Burnet last Tuesday but a strong second half by the Bulldogs grounded the Ducks, likely ending their chances at the playoffs 64-39 in Burnet. The loss brings the Ducks record to 5-15 overall and 2-6 in district play.
In a game that was defined by a tale of two halves Taylor came out hot early taking the opening quarter 14-7.
The Bulldogs battled back as the teams each finished the second quarter scoring 9-9. The Ducks held a 23-16 advantage heading into the locker room.
The Bulldogs turned up the burners in the second half and outscored the Ducks 25-5 in the third taking the lead and never looking back.
Another big scoring outpour sealed the win for Burnet outdoing the Ducks 23-11.
The Ducks were dominated in transition points and points off turnovers by the Bulldogs 52-11. The Bulldogs outscored the Ducks 32-18 in points in the paint. Taylor tuned the ball over 24 times compared to Burnet’s 17.
Conner Cobb led the Ducks in rebounds grabbing down 8 total. Iroquis Jones led the Ducks in scoring with 9 points.
The Ducks were on the road Friday to face Gateway Prep (15-7). They will wrap up their regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at home against Salado (17-5).
