Taylor boys bb

Both Seniors, Ja’Von Carver and Devin Garcia dropped 20 points as the pond was rocking Tuesday night in the Ducks 52-51 win over the Salado Eagles.

After the opening quarter the boys held a 19-13 edge. At the half the pace for the Ducks had slowed but they jumped back on their game plan in the third and were back on top carrying a slim 40-37 lead into the final frame. Despite being outscored in the final quarter 14-12 the Ducks grabbed the lead for the final time a huge Ja’Von Carver 3 pointer. His 10 second half points helped grab the win for the Ducks as the hometown fans outcheered the Salado faithful.

In addition to Ja’ Von Carver and Garcia’s 20 each. Jpsh Blue had 6 points and Eric Derry had 5 and Ja’ Ron Carver added a 3 ball in the fourth. Francisco Delagarza didn’t get on the scorecard but had two big steals late in the game to help the Ducks cause.

The Ducks travel to Liberty Hill in a big district match this Friday night. Liberty Hill visited Taylor for the Ducks tournament earlier in the season, but the two schools never met in the brackets. The boys will be back home against Eastside Memorial on the January 28. The Eastside game will be in Taylor due to the Ducks traveling there earlier in the year due to inclement weather in Taylor.
