Taylor basketball standout Devin Garcia has made his decision on where he will be playing college basketball.
Garcia announced recently he would be taking his talents to Richland College in Dallas.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank everybody who have supported me on my journey. I would like to thank Coach Havens for giving me the opportunity to play at the next level. On that note I will be continuing my education and my craft at Richland College,” Garcia said. “I want to thank my family, coaches, mentors, teammates, and fans for truly believing in me and giving me their time, I couldn't have done it without their support! I will do my best to work hard, outperform, and be bold on the court!”
Moving forward Garcia will be escalating his Duck status to Thunderduck, the nickname for his destined school in north Texas.
“I will work my butt off to transfer, Garcia said. “wherever the best fit is.”
Garcia has plans of majoring in Business Management at Richland College, and then either transferring to Sam Houston State or possibly playing overseas professionally.
When asked if he were to get drafted into the NBA where he’d like to go Garcia responded, “Houston Rockets, James Hardin is my favorite player.”
The Richland Thunderducks are a member of the National Junior College Division III and have won the national championship three times in 1999, 2009, and most recently 2015. Last year the Thunderducks finished 23-6 going 7-3 in conference play and 16-1 at home.
