The Lady Ducks softball team came away with a walk-off win this past Wednesday, March 11at home against Canyon Lake 7-6.

The Lady Ducks grabbed the lead early in the game and headed into the third inning with a 2-0 lead. Over the next two innings however Canyon Lake stepped up their game taking a 4-2 lead.

The teams traded runs in the fourth making the game 5-3. The remainder of the game was back and forth. In the fifth Taylor scored to pull within one at 5-4. Canyon Lake, in their very next at bat stretched the lead back to two. In the Lady Ducks seventh they grabbed two runs to knot things up at 6-6.

The eighth inning was quiet for both squads. In the bottom of the ninth Avery Tumey stepped to the plate and sent the Taylor fans home happy with a walk-off home run.

Kenan Nunamaker went 3-for-4 for the Lady Ducks scoring three times. Alyssa Rios also added a home run and had 4 RBI’s in the Lady Ducks win. Lindsay O’Dell went all nine innings for the Lady Ducks allowing 5 hits and striking out 14.

The Lady Ducks record now stands at 13-2 and will be in road action on Tuesday, March 17 at Gatesville.
