The Lady Ducks track team was in action last Thursday, Mar. 5 at Salado. The team finished overall in 2nd place while bringing home first place in three Varsity events and one JV event.
“The girls really stepped up and competed well against our district competition. It was good to see where we currently stack up against Salado, Burnet, and Lampasas,” said Coach Shelli Cobb.
Lakaysha Davis shined at the event bringing home first place in both the Shot-Put and Discus. In the Shot-Put event she came out on top with a distance of 36’3”, and in the Discus she won with a distance of 102’ 7 1/2. Also bringing home first place was Sarah Vrable in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.75.

The JV girls finished 5th overall and brought home first place in the 4x100m Relay with a time of 55.0- Aliyanna Chavis, Ahjalei Davis, Nekoye Anderson and Kameryn Hawkins.
“I am so proud of how our girls competed today We still have some work to do, but overall, I was very pleased with our performance today,” Cobb added.
