After Fridays big sweep over Milano the Granger Lions were back on the road to face powerhouse Hearne. The Eagles appeared to be too much for the Lions as they fell 73-39.
At the end of the first quarter the Eagles had already begun to take control leading 11-6, a lead that would slowly grow over the course of the game. The Lions would only manage 7 points in the second quarter and by halftime the Eagles had extended their lead to 28-13 as the Lions were unable to bounce back.
As the start of the second half commenced Hearne showed no mercy dropping 25 points in the third and 20 more in the fourth to take the Lions down hard. The 16 points in the final quarter would be the team’s biggest effort in the game, but by then it was too little too late for Granger.
Sophomore, Johnny Ryder led the Lions with a double-double scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Junior, Thomas Rhoades added 9 points and 4 four rebounds
