The Lady Ducks weren’t the only ones in a tournament this past week. As December opened up the Taylor boys basketball team was in action at a tournament at Cedar Creek.

On Thursday the Ducks dropped their first game to 6A Belton 60-48. In their second game against St. Andrews the game was close and came down to OT where the Ducks fell on a last second shot from the Highlanders 52-50. At halftime the Ducks held a slight 22-17 lead which slowly evaporated over the remainder of the game. After three frames the Ducks led by just two, then were outscored in the fourth 14-12 to force the OT period.

The Ducks got on the winning track Friday in their third match against Crockett winning in dramatic fashion with a buzzer beater three ball 59-58. Later that day the Ducks again came away with the win against the host school Crockett 59-52.

The Ducks battled in the third-place game on Saturday against Round Rock Westwood. The Warriors appeared to much for the Ducks coming away with a 64-49 win.

The Ducks record now stands at 5-3 and were in action Tuesday night on the road against Gatesville.
