As of now the 2019-20 high school sports season has ended, all to abruptly might I add. I wanted to take a look back with a few photos from our Taylor, Granger and Thrall athletes.
First to those who concluded their seasons. to you I say congratulations and thank you for all of your hard work and effort in keeping our little part of Texas rich in sports. There were some wonderful moments. While Taylor embarked on new beginning in football Granger and Thrall were once again playoff bound. Congratulations to all volleyball programs for all making the playoffs, especially a big appreciation for the Lady Lions who earned a postseason trip for the first time in a decade. The basketball programs, both boys and girls, were entertaining and competitive thanks to guidance and leadership of all of those seniors.
As for the athletes of spring sports, my heart breaks for you as you have had your seasons cut short. Baseball and softball and also track. In a shortened season none of us will soon forget I encourage you too reflect back on the memories you had in prior years. You were able to play the sports that some of us in the older generations wish we could play again.
For those who will play again at the next level. Good luck, I am certain each of you will make those of us who cheered for you proud.
For those entering society, welcome. We embrace you as you become a part of us. Perhaps you will help lead us as you have your respective teams through this global situation which we now find ourselves in.
The athletes of the Class of 2020 will be one that will surely not be forgotten. You will forever be remembered during a time when the high school world of sports paused and froze in time.
