The Taylor Ducks fell on the gridiron once again this time to district leader Lampasas in their worst loss of the season Friday night, 56-0. The chill of fall settled in on the pond as the Ducks took the field. Their record now stands at 0-8 overall and 0-3 in district play.
By the end of the first quarter the Badgers held a 21-0 lead which doubled by halftime. in the second half the Ducks defense held a bit better holding the Badger to only 14 points.
In the game the Ducks offense was unable to get going and tallied only 50 yards of total offense. The first four possessions for the Ducks ended with a three and out, a fumble that led to a touchdown one play later, an interception which led to a touchdown one play later and a three and out punt from their own end zone.
The Ducks got the ball to open the second half and on the first play fumbled which was returned for another Lampasas touchdown.
The passing game for the Ducks went 0 for 9 with 1 interception and the ground game was equally neutralized. The Ducks leading rusher was Junior, Daniel Mendoza who carried 4 times for 27 yards. Junior Isaac Rivera led the Ducks in tackles with 14.
This Friday the Ducks travel for the last time this season to face Liberty Hill who is on a down season. Playoff aspirations do remain for the Ducks if they can manage to win Friday night and next week at home against Burnet.
