Friday night the Lady Ducks kept the game close, but it was the home team Burnet Lady Bulldogs who would come out with the victory 36-32.
After the first quarter, the two schools were knotted at 3-3 as both teams had trouble getting the offense rolling. Both schools picked things up on in the second frame with the Lady Bulldogs holding a slight advantage heading into halftime 14-10. In the third, the Lady Ducks came storming back outscoring Burnet 15-11 to tie the game once again heading into the fourth 25-25. In the end, another 11-7 quarter run by Burnet gave the Lady Bulldogs the home win.
Natalie Alderete led the Lady Ducks with 10 points and Lakaysha Davis led the Lady Ducks with 9 rebounds' Josie Lewis had 3 steals and Yasmine Thomas grabbed 4 more.
The Lady Ducks drop to 19-14 overall and 3-4 in district play. They are currently tied for third alongside Burnet.
Having now lost three of their last four games the Lady Ducks road stretch has ended as they were back in-home action Tuesday night against Lampasas.
