Tanner Welch prepares for competition

Taylor track star Tanner Welch was out at Taylor High School Wednesday morning training in final preparation for the National meet this weekend Aug. 3 in Greensboro, NC. After a somewhat bleak performance in Florida, Welch was more focused and ready to go.

Welch was able to clear 14ft. twice, 14’6 ft. and 15’ft. twice. His attempts at 15’6ft were not as successful as he faulted three times on the height.

The standard for the meet in Greensboro will start at 15’ ft. competition in North Carolina will be a challenge, there are fifty-five vaulters scheduled to jump.

Welch is prepared and focused on jumping his personal best at the National meet. He will be traveling tomorrow and returning to Taylor on Tuesday.
