A strong performance by Sophomore, Johnny Ryder wasn’t quite enough for the Lions to take down Johnson in Tuesday nights non-conference matchup.

Johnson gained the upper hand early outscoring the Lions 19-14 in the opening quarter. By the half Johnson had extended their lead to 37-26. Momentum swayed a bit in the Lions favor as they came out of the locker room ready to play. The team would outscore Johnson in the second half 19-14 and 18-14 but the lead held by Johnson was too much for the Lions to overcome.

Ryder led the Lions with 29 points and 5 rebounds. Senior, Carlos Reyna tallied just 4 points but led the team in rebounds with 8. Senior Thomas Rhoades added 13 points and 1 steal and 2 blocks for the Lions.

The Lions were back at home again Friday night to face off against Mumford
