The Taylor Ducks boys ‘basketball team notched their 20th win of the season this past Friday at home as they easily defeated Eastside Memorial 60-20. The game was so much a one-sided affair that more of the Ducks bench players were able to get in some good playing time.
The first quarter was completely dominated by the Ducks as they jumped out to a 24-2 lead against the Panthers. After jumping out to a big lead the Ducks were set on cruise control for the remainder of the game. In the second they outscored Eastside 14-6 to take a 30-point lead into the locker room at halftime 38-8.
With the game already in hand the Ducks scored 16 more points in the third and just 6 points in the final 8 minutes to secure their 20th win of the season.
Francisco Delagarza led the Ducks with 23 points while Reese Gensler and Ja’Ron Carver each had 8 points.
The Ducks have locked up second place in the district at 20-10 (7-2) and will play the 3rd place team from District 28, more than likely Wimberly, when the playoffs start. The Ducks had one more home challenge on Senior night Tuesday as they took on Burnet.
