There was no high school baseball on what would be Senior Night in Granger, but senior players were honored, nonetheless.

On May 1, seniors on the Granger Lions baseball team were honored on the Granger ISD Facebook page. Photos were taken of the seniors and their uniforms at the team’s baseball field

“As they would have played in their last home game this evening, we would like to thank these seniors and their parents and families for their time, effort, and commitment to Granger Lion baseball,” said Coach Kody Kuhl. “We truly appreciate your passion for the game and will be deeply missed.”

The Granger baseball season was cut short due to cancelations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Seniors on the team include Carlos Reyna, Carlos Garza, Bruce Lay and Travis Miller. Miller tragically passed away this past December.

“In honor of Travis Miller, tonight‘s starters were all going to wear the #7 jersey,” said Kuhl.

Also, recently members of Granger’s baseball team were presented with district honors. 2019-2020 All-District Baseball Selections were Johnny Ryder, Carlos Garza, Tripp Wilkie, Nathan Tucker, Hunter Ivicic, and Bruce Lay.
