The Lady Lions came away with an impressive home win Tuesday, March 10 against their rival Bartlett 16-5.

After falling behind 1-0 in the opening inning the Lady Lions roared ahead crossing the plate 6 times in their half of the first.

The Lassies began to claw back into the game scoring 4 runs in the top of the third, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Lions scored 4 runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to extend and solidify their win

Junior, Alexi Wade went 3-for-3 hitting scoring twice and driving in a run. Freshman, Gabby Ramirez also had a big game going 2-for-4 driving in 3 runs and scoring 3 times as well. Freshman, Mattie Wilkie also went 2-for-4 scoring 3 times and driving in 2 runs. Freshman, Marissa Luna in her lone at bat of the game drove in two runs for the Lady Lions.

Sophomore Amayah Simien and Senior, Faith Scruggs shared pitching duties in the game. Simien went 3 innings allowing 6 hits and all of the Lassies runs while striking out 2. Scruggs closed out the final 2 innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 2 as well.
