Recently there were shade structures added to the Taylor Tennis Facility and in honor of retired legendary Taylor Duck Tennis Coach Vicki Hall.
The school would like to dedicate these structures to her and her many years of dedication and coaching of the student athletes at Taylor High School.
The dedication will take place at the Taylor High School Tennis Courts Thursday, February 13 at 5:15pm. All staff, students, administration and community members are welcome to come be a part of this recognition.
As a student, Hall brought home the 3A state doubles championship in 1976 under Coach Safarik, a tough mentor whose influence ultimately helped shape Hall’s own coaching style.
“My first year in team tennis we were still with the big schools,” Hall said. “We beat Waco Midway to go to regional and that was pretty exciting.”
In 2002 Hall was named Texas Tennis Coaches Association 4A Coach of the Year. She was recently honored last May, upon her retirement, for her years of dedicated service to Taylor ISD.
After the support and overwatch the school has given to her over the years a structure bearing her name seems fitting. It will shade, support and overwatch current and future members of Taylor Ducks tennis.
