After an 0-5 November, the Taylor Ducks boys’ basketball team got things going on track with a big home win on Tuesday Dec. 1 against the Lago Vista Vikings 68-55.

The inside shooting of the Ducks was on point. As a team Taylor shot an effective 53% from the field. The Ducks went 10 for 16 from the charity stripe for 62% but fell a bit short from long ball range shooting just 26%.

The Ducks exited the opening quarter up 20-13. Planting that lead early pushed the Ducks into the halftime locker room with a double-digit lead at 36-25.

It took the Ducks some time to get going in the third frame as the Vikings battled back to narrow the gap to six at 49-43.

In the fourth the Ducks bounced back regaining the double-digit lead and securing their first win of the 2020 season.

Taylor Press Athlete of the Week Iroquis Jones led the Ducks with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Josef Zuniga tallied 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Conner Cobb was all over the court, even though he only had 2 points his 10 assists opened up the court against the defense. Taelor Derry contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds.

The Ducks were in action Friday night against Little River Academy and will be back at home Tuesday to take on Gatesville.
