William Gene Fuchs, 87, passed away Aug. 29, 2020 in Round Rock. He lived in Spicewood for 30 years, and in San Antonio for nearly 30 years prior. Known as Gene, he was born Dec. 23, 1932, to William Gustav Fuchs and Berta Lee (Hill) Fuchs of Thrall.
Gene graduated from Thrall High School in 1951, then attended Texas Lutheran College (TLU) before joining the Army in 1953, serving two years in the Korean War.
He married the love of his life, Doris Marie Lenz, Aug. 18, 1957, in Taylor. Gene and Doris returned to Seguin to complete his education degree at TLU. They moved to San Antonio, both serving as educators until Gene retired in 1987. They were blessed with a son and two daughters.
Gene’s Christian faith guided him in life, and now in eternity. He loved his family and was quite the entrepreneur, trying many things, like rockhounding and writing, when not fishing or traveling with Doris and his family.
