Robert David Filla, 54, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Robert was born Dec. 4, 1965, to Daniel “Dan” Filla and Helen (Skrhak) Filla.
He attended Taylor High School where he met his wife of 32 years Lisa Zeplin. After graduating Robert started working for Williamson County where he dedicated 30 years as a skilled mechanic. Robert enjoyed participating in mud races, hunting, metal fabrication, collecting guns and working on cars. He was happy to help anyone and was truly a jack of all trades.
Robert lived life to the fullest and loved going to the casino with his wife and sharing a laugh with his kids.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Filla Jr.; grandparents, Francis and Joe Skrhak and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Filla.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lisa Filla; daughter, Heather and son Robert Filla Jr.; parents, Dan and Helen Filla; and brothers, Albert, Danny Jo and Edward Filla.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home.
