James Edward Polasek, 68, of Taylor, passed away peacefully in his home July 10, 2020.
James was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Taylor to Dorothy Lillian (Kaspar) and Edward John Polasek. He was a manager for Mastec with 47 years of dedicated service.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and working on his ranch with his two youngest grandchildren, Hoyt (5) and Cheyenne (1). James would always call each niece by their nickname he gave them.
He was a kindhearted man who helped anyone in need, provided a shoulder to lean on or gave words of wisdom. His kind, honest and generous spirit touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
James married Debra Lynn Barnes Jan. 11, 1970, and this marriage was blessed with four children, Kimberly Dawn, Michele Lea, James Edward Jr. and Edward John II. His birthday was special, he was blessed with the birth of his second daughter Michele and last year was his newest granddaughter Cheyenne.
James was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Lea Charles; granddaughter, Rebecka Jeananne Welton; parents, Dorothy Fitzgerald and Edward Polasek; stepfather, Bobby Clyde Fitzgerald; brother, Joseph Daniel Polasek; and grandparents, Vlasta Julie (Sladek) and Louis John Kaspar.
James is survived by his children, Kimberly Welton (Alan), James Polasek, Jr. (Ragina) and Edward Polasek (Shellie); grandchildren, Josiph Welton (Shi Anne), Holliy Welton, Aren Welton, Joshua Villanueva (Roshelle), Amber Charles (Hope), Teri Polasek, Christopher Polasek, Hoyt Polasek and Cheyenne Polasek; great-grandson, Joshua Villanueva, Jr.; five brothers, John Polasek, Glen Polasek, David Polasek, Timothy Polasek and Brian Fitzgerald; eight sisters, Donnie Webb, Barbara Thonig, Sharon Muston, Debra Buchhorn, Mary Williams, Cynthia Kruse, Laura Druesdow and Melissa Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
