Maria Delfina Garcia Villatoro, also known as “Mamita,” age 76, passed away peacefully at home Sunday Nov. 8, 2020.
She was born on Feb. 3, 1944, in Sumpango Sacatepequez Guatemala to the late Genaro Villatoro and Josefa de Villatoro.
Maria was a woman of faith, who often wisely quoted the Bible and sayings passed down by her mother Josefa “Mamafita” Villatoro. She claimed her greatest achievement in life was giving birth to her children. She carried her mother’s memory in all that she did, holding her dear to her heart while extending her endless and nurturing love as a mother to everyone that knew her.
She worked tirelessly throughout her life, building a home, a family and memories. Those memories circle our family filled table bringing laughter, tears, smiles and most importantly love. Many moments are recalled in the kitchen, any kitchen, every kitchen preparing family favorites and specialties only she had perfected.
She had her playful quirks – a sigh or a look – often accompanied by a smile or laughter. God’s love and spirit shined through her, she was meek, she was wise, she was fierce and she was loved.
While her memory brings joy, sadness follows her loss. Our family endures the loss of a beautiful life who gave never expecting anything in return. She was called to the heavens too soon, “our hearts weren’t ready but your wings were.”
Maria was preceded in death by her brothers Francisco Villatoro, Melecio Villatoro, Jose Antonio Villatoro, and Jorge Arebalo.
Maria is survived by her children, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers and other extended family.
Arrangements under the direction of Condra Funeral Home in Taylor.
