Dolores Marie Bachmeyer Woelfel

Dolores Marie Bachmeyer Woelfel was born to Joe and Ella Bachmeyer July 27, 1932. On Nov. 27, 1952, she married Monroe Verner Woelfel.

She was a farmer’s wife for 57 years. In her early years she worked at Zieschang’s Café, Taylor Meat and Sirloin Stockade. She was well known for her homemade bread, coffee cake, tamales and milk rice.

Her hobbies included sewing bonnets, aprons and much more like gardening, tending to her chickens and word finds.

Dolores was kind-hearted, anyone who visited her home would leave with eggs, cookies or a plate of sweets.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe; parents, Joe and Ella; brother, Marvin Bachmeyer; brother-in-law, Franklin Peschel; grandson, William Preusse; and son-in-law, Alfred Preusse.

She is survived by her children, Beverly Preusse, Carol Simms and husband Danny, Janet Cmerek and husband Lynn, Edward Woelfel and wife Stephanie; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Noack.

A celebration of life will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Taylor City Cemetery.
