Pastor Salome Medina Gusman, 92, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020. He was born Oct. 21, 1927, to Marcos and Maria Gusman from McDade.
Salome was a pastor for many years and earned his crown of glory with his love for the Lord. He planted numerous churches in the surrounding area. He enjoyed ministering to his family including grandchildren and touched many lives during his ministry.
He is survived by his gracious wife of more than 70 years, Maria Martinez Gusman; sons, Joe Gusman (Lucy) from Round Rock, Pastor Salome Gusman Jr. (Mary Helen) from Austin, Pastor Adam Gusman (Lisa) from Taylor, and Bobby Gusman from Taylor; daughters, Eva Amador from Brownwood, Mary Ann Perez (Lupe) from Taylor, Alice Sanchez (John) from Taylor, Helen Vela (Augustine) from Taylor, Diane Carrillo (Ociel) from College Station, Martha Way (Roger) from Austin and Tessie Leyendecker (Andy) from Taylor; and two nieces, Rosaria Arocha and Isabel Garcon. He was also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday, July 20, at 6 p.m. at Primera Iglesias Bautista Taylor, 1699 W Second St. A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetary.
