Francisco (Frank) Lerma, Sr., age 79 of Taylor, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, in San Antonio, after a brief illness.
Frank was born Sept. 29, 1940, to Carlota and Francisco Lerma. He married Hilda Torres Jan. 12, 1963.
Frank was a graduate of William Adams High School in Alice (Texas). As a young man, Frank enjoyed boxing, where he was a Golden Glove champion. He worked for Alcoa Aluminum for more than 30 years where he was also a volunteer fireman and safety inspector.
Frank loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved watching football, reading the newspaper and keeping up with current events.
Frank is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Rolando Lerma and Adrian Lerma; sister, Azucena Torres; and daughter, Judy Balderas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hilda; sons, Frank (Mary) Lerma, Jr., Rudy (Luisa) Lerma and Eddie (Madeline) Lerma; sister, Micaela Zepeda; brothers, Dionicio Lerma and Isabel Lerma; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2500 Limmer Loop, Hutto. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
