The downtown skate park has a name, Pierce Park, and signs for the park are up for discussion. On Thursday, the Taylor City Council will hear the possible designs for signs at the skate park.
According to the meeting agenda packet, there could be up to four signs placed at the park. The signs will recognize the park’s name and the 50/50 project, which helped fund the park.
There is a proposal for a steel sign that has information about the 50/50 project and gives thanks to artists, the city, grantors and sponsors.
Another design, which would be placed in the entry area near the seating wall, has information about current and past council and city staff members who supported the project. The sign would also have the names of the construction companies and partners for the project.
The other designs include a lighted 50/50 sign on top of the art wall and lighted sign with the park’s name.
Other agenda items include:
- A presentation from the LifePark Center Board
- An update on Capital Improvement Projects
- The quarterly investment report
The full agenda is available on the city’s website.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. at city hall. The council will hear public comments prior to the meeting but citizens should sign up by 5:45 p.m. if they wish to speak.
