Pioneer writing camp

Main Street Intermediate is offering Saturday writing camps for fourth graders before the practice writing test on Feb. 25 and the STAAR writing test on April 7. With a pioneer theme, these young authors are reviewing compound sentences, prefixes, suffixes, spelling, contractions and apostrophes. Texas Indian tribes are also included in the theme to review social studies TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). Pictured, MSI pioneer writing camp teacher Cynthia Azua facilitates an activity using compound sentences during a recent Saturday morning in the library.
