The New Century Club met on Oct. 18, in the beautifully fall decorated home of Mary Jane Hammack.

The members enjoyed a very informative program by Donna Fowler of TX-Mat 3 on emergency response efforts. The club learned what the team of medical volunteers based out of Houston does to set up medical relief facilities in or nearby devastated areas due to hurricanes, flooding, tornados or any other disasters.

Hostesses for the meeting were Lydia Burow, Jerry Heap and Pat Felfe along with Mary Jane Hammack.

President Hammack reminded members to bring a love-offering gift to the Nov. 15 meeting at the home of Delores Kubala.

The November meeting at Kubala’s home was decorated with a Thanksgiving fall theme.

Hostess along with Kubala were Jeanie Schneider, Janell Rohlack and Peggy Ging.

Club member Anne Wentrecek gave an informative program on her recent mission trip to Peru. Members enjoyed her testimony on serving and the many different customs of the Peruvian village where she stayed.

Club president Mary Jane Hammack remined members that the December meeting will be held Dec. 20, at the S.P.J.S.T. nursing home, where members will sing Christmas carols beginning at 9:30 a.m. Then, the club will go to El Corral Lozano for a Dutch treat brunch.

A love offering was collected to be presented to a local cancer patient.
