“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”

- Anne Lamott

Let‘s talk about self-care. Self-care is not selfish. It’s absolutely necessary if you don’t want to get stressed out and sick. You can’t pour from an empty vessel.

Most people would not let their cell phone go in to low power mode. Why do we just keep going?

This week I challenge you to schedule some time for yourself. Do something that makes you happy. Take breaks. Be kind to yourself, then spread that kindness.

Please take good care of yourself.

We also want to give a big shout out to councilman Robert Garcia, who went out with the Public Works crew to do some street work. While it was not a complete rebuild of the roads, Garcia helped fill in potholes and got a taste of what the street crews do for our community.

Remember to send us your good news stories. You can email them to lifestyles@taylorpress.net or post to the Good News Taylor Made Facebook page.

If you want a warm greeting and smiling faces, bring you stories down to the Taylor Press office, 211 W. Third St.

Always remember there is goodness everywhere and kindness matters.
