The topic for the most recent Beer and Bible meeting was “Why is serving others is important?”

The group put together about 40 blessing bags consisting of water, snacks, toiletries, Bible verse and reminder God loves them. The bags were then passed out to homeless people in the local community.

“We will continue to make these bags about once a month and have them with us in our cars ready to hand out,” said First United Methodist Church Pastor Sela Finau. “Be a blessing to someone today.”

Beer and Bible, sponsored by First United Methodist Church and led by Pastor Finau, meets every Thursday, from 6 to 7 p.m. Currently, the meetings are held at Squirt’s Burgers and Wings,405 S. Main St.

Everyone is invited to come share a meal, sing a song, pray and have discussions on current issues.
