Bertha Rozacky Sefcak, of Taylor, celebrated her 101st birthday Monday, Dec. 21.

Due to COVID-19, her family had to get a little creative in order to find a way to honor such an amazing woman. Since a large gathering of family and friends was not possible, they decided to have a surprise drive by parade to show their love and well wishes.

Bertha sat on a birthday throne in front of Old Taylor High with large happy birthday letters beside her. The birthday parade included many of Bertha’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and lifelong friends. There were balloons, streamers, happy birthday signs and many renditions of the happy birthday song.

Bertha was thrilled to see everyone and looks forward to her next birthday where hopefully they can all hug.
