“The simple things in life are also the most extraordinary things and only the wise can see them.”

-Paulo Coelho

Never be too grown up to see the magic in simple things.

Life is what is happening all around us while we wait for the one thing we hope will give us some sort of inner peace, contentment or joy. The problem is that when, and if, that thing happens, we usually enjoy it for all of five minutes before realizing nothing in us has fundamentally changed.

Meanwhile, we’re ignoring the fact that we woke up that morning with air in our lungs, a cup of hot coffee in our hands and laughed on the phone with a friend.

It’s always the little things that make a big difference. Don’t overlook these little things.

Today is the first day of December, and Christmas is just around the corner. So, today we can begin the 25 days of kindness challenge.

Every day for the next 25 days, do or say something kind to a different person. You cannot repeat the act of kindness or the person you do it for or say it to.

Write it down each day, and at the end of 25 days reflect on the kindness you have shared and encourage someone to do the same thing.

Also, remember to share your experiences with us on the Good News Taylor Made Facebook page. You can also email your stories to lifestyles@taylorpress.net or drop it by our office, 211 W. Third St.

Always remember there is goodness everywhere and kindness matters.
