Derrick Chubbs

 

The First Baptist Church, 300 N. Robinson Street, in Taylor will host a black history program Feb. 23, at 3 p.m. at the church. The guest speaker will be Derrick Chubbs, president and CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank.

Chubbs joined the Food Bank in 2016. He spent close to 10 years with the American Red Cross where he served as the National Vice President of Humanitarian Services for Disaster Workforce Readiness and as the Division Vice president for the Southwest and Rocky Mountains Division, and was responsible for the operations in nine states comprised of more than 130 locations, over 500 employees, 20,000 volunteers and fundraising revenue of over $70 million.

He also served as theCEO of the American Red Cross of Central Texas, and as the Texas State Relations Representative on legislative and government relations issues.  

Chubbs is a graduate of the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University and has earned certificates in Project Management and Managerial Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin.
