Schools remain closed until May 4

Teachers will have to be away from their students for a little bit longer after Gov. Greg Abbott ordered schools to remain closed until May 4.

Teacher Appreciation Week is nationwide May 4-8, and Taylor ISD wants to celebrate their own.

On April 30, the district asked for help to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. Taylor ISD would like either short shout-out video messages or a photo with a child and/or family holding a sign with a shout-out message. The accumulation will be included in a Teacher Appreciation Video that the district will share next week.

The messages can be a thank you to their teacher or all teachers in general. Videos should be no longer than 10 seconds.

Videos or photos should be sent to Tim Crow at by Monday evening, May 4, with “Teacher Appreciation” in the subject line. A video with all collected messages will be shared toward the end of the week.
