Taylor Ducks

The Taylor Ducks varsity football team stands for the national anthem before a game during the 2020 season.

A COVID-19 case has paused Taylor ISD's football program.

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, Taylor Assistant Athletic Director Shelli Cobb confirmed that football activities were suspended until further notice at the time.

“These are details that we are still working out,” added Robert Little, Taylor ISD athletic director. "We are very early into this and as you can imagine, it is very chaotic right now. We will get information out as it becomes available

Just before noon Tuesday, the Taylor Athletic Booster Club reported on their Facebook page that “All Taylor Football practices, and football games will be suspended until October 27th. We have had a confirmed COVID case and have been advised to suspend all football related activities until October 27th. This includes all Varsity, JV, Freshman and Junior High football teams.”

This week, the Ducks were slated to travel to play Canyon Lake before next week’s Homecoming game against Burnet. Those games have now been put on hold.

More details are still coming in. Tune in to Taylor Press website and Facebook pages for all updates.
