TAYLOR POLICE DEPARTMENT ARREST REPORT

Elroy Townsend, 40, of Elgin was arrested at 8: 53 a. m. byTaylor Police Depar tment.
Of f icers were advised that Townsend had been arrested by the Bastrop County Sherif f ’s Of f ice for a Taylor Police Department Warrant. The warrant charged Townsend with Aggravated Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon, a Second Degree Felony.

Oscar Moreno, 47, of Taylor was arrested at 5:50 p.m. in the 400 block East Lake Dr. Officers responded to a report of a family violence assault. Investigation revealed that Moreno had assaulted another family member by punching and strangling. The Victim was operating a vehicle at the time of the assault. Moreno was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence – Strangulation, a Third Degree Felony.
James Smith Jr., 31, of Taylor was arrested at 3:17 p.m. in the 100 block of West Martin Luther King Blvd. Officers conducted a traffic stop and investigation revealed that Smith was driving without a valid Texas Driver’s License due to it being revoked.
Smith was arrested and charged with Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction, a Class B Misdemeanor.
