Thrall XC competes at Shiner

SHINER — The Thrall High School varsity cross country team was in action on Saturday, Sept. 30 in the final regular-season meet of the season at the Shiner Invitational.

In the girls’ 1A-4A division for the two-mile run, junior Sarah Laurence was the top runner for Thrall in a field of 109 runners as her time of 14:08.80 placed her 17th while freshman Kayla Pouncey also had a solid run in 45th place with a mark of 15:19.60.

Thrall freshman Gracie Webb placed 71st with a time of 16:43.10, while Tigerettes sophomore Addison Ward came in 97th place with a mark of 19:42.60.

As for the boys in the 1A-4A division in the 5,000-meter run, Tigers senior Steven Walker placed 58th with a time of 22:19.60 and fellow Thrall senior Ethan Dahl came in 77th place with a mark of 23:37.80 on Saturday.

The Tigers and Tigerettes will both compete on Saturday, Oct. 7 in the District 27-2A Championships meet held at Cameron Middle School.
