Granger XC heads to Troy

TROY — The Granger High School varsity cross country team was back in action for its final regularseason meet on Saturday, Sept.

30 as the Lions and Lady Lions both competed in the Troy Trojan Invitational meet.

In a field of 81 runners in the 1A-4A girls’ twomile run, Lady Lions freshman Eva Ramirez was the top runner for Granger as she placed 38th with a solid time of 14:22.90. Granger freshman Brooklyn Gaswint placed 42nd with a mark of 14:24.80, while fellow freshman Keeleigh Peace came in 50th place with a time of 15:04.70.

As for the Granger boys in the 5,000-meter run, Lions sophomore Kye Welles placed 51st with a mark of 20:35.00 with freshman Adrian Lizardo a few spots behind him in 56th place with a time of 20:46.40 on Saturday.

The Lions and Lady Lions will both compete on Saturday, Oct. 7 in the District 27-2A Championships meet held at Cameron Middle School. Granger will compete against runners from Bartlett High School, Hearne High School, Holland High School, Milano High School, Thorndale High School and Thrall High School.
