Trojan LaFay Tidwell, 86, of Austin, passed away on July 31, 2018.
Trojan was born to Jeff and Ethel Tidwell on Dec. 20, 1931.
He grew up in Granger, and graduated from Granger High School in 1949. He later attended Southwest Texas State University.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, and served in the Air Force as a Radar Technician.
His life was forever changed when he went on a blind date in 1955, and married Josephine (Joann) Brulez on Nov. 10, 1956, in Shawnee, Kansas. He and Joann have been the proud owners/operators of Gold Star Marble and Cabinets for the past 42 years.
Trojan is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joann; sons Mark (Lori), Jeff, and Thomas (Cheryl); grandchildren Cory (Paola), Reis, Lauren, and Conner; great-grandchildren Cohen, Luna, and Christian; sister Trona Blaha; niece Treila Aery; nephew Dwayne (Nicki) Krueger and their children Grant, Chelsey (Drew) and Deuce; and a host of family, friends, and employees who will miss him dearly.
The family will host a memorial service celebrating his life Aug. 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Paloma Lake Amenity Center, 3185 Magellan Way in Round Rock.
