A simple traffic stop turned into an arrest for drugs last week in Hutto.
According to police reports, on July 17, Hutto police officers conducted a traffic stop on a Black Chevy Tahoe for equipment and traffic violations.
While conducting the stop, the officer observed that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, appeared nervous. A check of his criminal history showed a history of narcotics-related offenses. The driver consented to a search of his vehicle.
During the search, officers found a bong with residue, a syringe that was loaded with suspected liquid methamphetamine, more than one gram of crystal methamphetamine and two .22 caliber pistols.
The driver, a Hutto resident, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (firearm).
