A Hutto man is behind bars after a crime spree that involved drugs and breaking into vehicles.
According to police reports, on July 14, an alert citizen saw a suspicious individual near a residence walking with what appeared to be a pistol hanging out of his pocket.
The subject got into a black Ford Explorer and drove off. Officer’s located the subject in the 600 block of West US HWY 79 and the subject was identified as Yann Sanchez.
During the officer’s investigation, it was learned that Sanchez was in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, false drug test kit, a prohibited weapon, a controlled substance and numerous stolen items.
Sanchez confessed he was looking for unlocked vehicles in the Blackman Court and Herrera Court area that had items he could sell and had spent the night burglarizing vehicles. He also admitted to doing the same thing a few nights prior in the Blackman Trail area and stated he was the subject caught on video posted on the Hutto Police Department Facebook page.
He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, false drug test falsification device, possession of drug paraphernalia, prohibited weapon-knuckles and two counts of burglary of a vehicle.
Due to his confession, a warrant was obtained for another charge of burglary of a vehicle from July 12. Sanchez is currently in the Williamson County Jail with a total bond amount of $24,500.00.
